Beware of this New Visa Scam Phone Call!
I groggily answered the ringing phone at 6am, and was alarmed to hear an official-sounding robotic voice. “This is the alert system with Visa (or Mastercard) account services!” It went on to tell me that there were two suspicious charges to my Visa card.
Unpleasant. I foolishly let them do a computer repair and paid them.
Later the same evening I changed my card details so that they could not access my bank account; leaving the them the claim the sum I had paid. What's make me very suspicious is that I after a week the sum of money had not been moved from my account. Fortunately my bank's fraud department keeps detailed computer records and I am not out of pocket.

My 80 year old neighbour responded to a help alert on her computer and phoned this number. They got into her computer and changed passwords etc and then asked for £200 or £299.00 for the help plus a year's support. She told us about this and we were suspicious. They can only be contacted by this 0800 680 0619 number. We rang this number explaining that we wished to know who the company were as our elderly neighbour had paid them a considerable amount of money for their computer support. In hard to understand Asian accents we were passed from one person to another until, when we asked the last person again for the company name and web site so that we could look into them the phone was put down. Fortunately she paid by credit card and the credit card company is now looking into it. We have also taken her computer off line and taken the computer to be checked by a reputable technician.
