What can the users learn about a number that is calling them?
Users can find the reviews of the phone number written by other users, the interest in the phone number in the last month and, if possible, its location (for landlines). Sometimes, there are no reviews for a given phone number. If, however, the page has e.g. a thousand views, it shows that it is most likely an annoying caller.
It can be a very convincing trick… “You can check the number in your display online sir. You’ll see I’m really calling from your bank.” That is, of course, if you are unaware that phone numbers can be spoofed. Then again, they wouldn’t be successful scammers if they weren’t convincing. If you suggest calling them…

several automated calls saying I am entitled to PPI claim. Complete and utter nonsense. Also unethical company as my number is TPI registered.

A recorded message saying "Our records show that you have not applied for your refund in this financial year" On phoning the number it is another recorded message which says "This is a sales and marketing number and if you have been called do not be concerned" and the option to press 9 to unsubscribe.

Claim to be PPI Hotline. They have an automated message and ask you to press 9 to delete your number or 5 to carry on and speak to an agent. If you speak to an agent and tell them you are on TPS they hang up. Very rude.
