Is the forum moderated?
The discussion on phone numbers is partly moderated. The forum gets thousands of new posts daily, so it is not possible to check every single comment. Therefore we pay attention mostly to suspicious and reported comments.
It can be a very convincing trick… “You can check the number in your display online sir. You’ll see I’m really calling from your bank.” That is, of course, if you are unaware that phone numbers can be spoofed. Then again, they wouldn’t be successful scammers if they weren’t convincing. If you suggest calling them…

I tend to believe this may be a telemarketer calling from a list provided via the ACA website of people that have not signed up through ACA. What a scam.
