Sheriff’s office warns of arrest warrant scam
Officials say the scammers identify themselves as a member of local law enforcement, even using the names of real detectives, and demand payment in the form of gift cards to avoid being arrested on a warrant.
I got a call with a recorded message saying that my IP address had been used in several countries and my service was going to be closed down. I hung up. It wasn't clear what organisation was contacting me.
