Jean, a 73-year-old grandmother, was at her Long Island home Thursday morning when she received a phone call from a man claiming to be her grandson. He was in jail for drunken driving, he said. He needed her help posting an $8,000 bail.

Rang my mother (89) telling her she had to claim her refund today, or by law, the value of her refund would diminish. no specific details of the refund were given.
She tells me she regularly gets these calls and hangs up.

Claimed I had a refund due and had to claim today - press 5 to reply and 9 to unsubscribe

They called me with a pre-recorded massge claiming to be a tax refund thing. They said I should press 5 to continue or press 9 to unsubscribe. I have a feeling pressing either number would have cost me dearly.

PPI refund chasers. They put the phone down on you if you actually take the call and start to ask them how to get removed from their system. Been trying to get rid of them for 2 years, their system 'apparently' gives you the option to 'opt out' by dialling 9 at the end of their message but it doesn't actually activate anything, just a falsification so they look responsible.

Brain dead random automated phone message

automated call rings my mother everyday telling her to press certain buttons for a pension rebate that she is not eligible for. Getting to be a real nuisance as it makes her not want to answer the phone.

Voice message - asks to press '5' if you do not wish to stay on the database. Yeah - right! Ignored it until if stopped speaking. Damned irritating.

Nuisance call. I have call screening and they hang up when they realise they have to give their name.
