Caller from call-centre on 3 Jan 22. Identified themselves as "The Postcode Lottery Department". They knew my postcode (of course) and address and name, although they could barely pronounce any of the above correctly. They clearly had no experience in this country at all. I was promised a 'free discount card' for use in 32 supermarkets or 6000 restaurants and a 'discount account' to give me £50 spending money plus free air tickets for two households to fly anywhere in Europe. The guy then 'transferred me to his senior supervisor' who then gabbled through the documents that I would receive in 2 days time and THEN BEGAN to ask for my BANK SORT CODE so they 'knew which bank I would be asking for the money to be received into'. I refused to give out this information on the phone, saying I would wait for the documents to arrive and then provide the details (I would not do that, of course). This displeased the senior supervisor and he dropped the line.
